Two Champions Together at the Start

Henkel Iberica sponsors Dakar Rally winner Marc Coma and his team at the 2012 Dakar Rally in hopes of further promoting its Loctite adhesives and sealants. Coma currently ranks second in this year’s competition.

The 35-year old Spanish driver has participated in the Dakar Rally since 2002 and has won the grueling race three times in the motorbike category, the most popular and dangerous of all Dakar racing categories.

The sponsorship has been very beneficial for both parties; the presence of the Loctite logo has been very visible on the motorbikes as well as the clothing of the riders and the technical team.  In addition, Marc Coma and Loctite share similar values such as endurance, strength, efficiency, leadership, experience, uniqueness and the passion for the motor sport world.

Henkel is also the premium official supplier of the Dakar Rally as Loctite and Teroson adhesives and sealants is used to quickly repair any vehicle that has been damaged during the race. A group of highly-qualified technical specialists from Henkel are also attending the Dakar Rally to assist the competitors with any urgent mechanical repairs. The Dakar Rally is the ideal platform for Loctite and Teroson as it provides the most extreme testing ground for its wide range of adhesives and sealants in specialized maintenance and vehicle repair products.

Marc Coma is one of the most notable competitors in the motor world. He has attained many victories and great results on the Enduro, including the Spain Junior Champion (1995) in the 175cc category and above, silver medalist in the Enduro World Championship (1996), fourth in the Enduro European Championship Senior exceeding of 175 cc and the winner of the Enduro Sub-23 World Championship. From 2004, he has won many well-known competitions multiple times including the Baja España Aragón (2004, 2008), Sardinia’s Rally (2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011), the Pampas Rally (2005, 2006), Pharaoh’s Rally (2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011), Raid World Championship Rally (2005, 2006, 2007, 2010) and the UAE Desert Challenge (2006, 2007, 2010, 2011). He is particularly proud of being a three-time winner of the Dakar Rally.
